Tiny Dark Jade Toki, hand-crafted bound Pendants

A bound Toki pendant with complex binding and hand-carved in stunning dark New Zealand Marsden jade, with hints of flower formations in the stone. Carved by Ernesto Ovalle from his Auckland studio.

These smaller pieces are suitable for woman and children.

Includes an adjustable plaited waxed braid cord, a traditional style woven presentation case and a description of the meaning of the carving.

The Toki is the adze blade was bound onto a wooden handle and used to carve the great canoes and details on the meeting houses.   It represents a creative or artistic person and the coming together of head, hand and heart.
