The Piwakawaka or Fantail  is a cheeky little native bird that catches insects on the wing.
It darts around chasing small flying insects with a happy little chirp.
It will flock to walkers who stir up insects in the grass as they move, often flying around your legs and feet but somehow avoiding getting stepped on.
